Some very sad news....the President of Fordingbridge RFC, Tony O'Connell, died suddenly of a heart attack in the early hours of Sunday morning. Tony was a legend in the Fordingbridge community through the Rugby Club, Cycling, Carnival organisation, his business ventures and his hearty laugh. Before moving to Fordingbridge ‘Rocky’ was a stalwart member of The Trojans Rugby Club during the 70’s and early 80’s. He played well over 100 games for their 1st XV, initially as a flanker and latterly as a prop. He represented Hampshire in 1981.
He and Brian Fuller, were the founding members of Fordingbridge Rugby Club and he will be sorely missed.
Our thoughts and condolences go to Christine, his wife, and his Children Paul and Amy.

Fordingbridge RFC runs three senior sides, boys’ teams at under 13, 14 and 15 and a mini section for boys & girls aged 5 to 12 years.
Champions of Hampshire1 in 2008/2009 our 1stXV now play league rugby in London SW3. They also compete in the Senior Vase and the Hampshire Bowl knock-out competitions.
After securing the championship of Dorset & Wilts 3 (South) in 2008/2009 our 2nd XV play their league rugby in Dorset & Wilts 2 (South).
Our Blues team plays friendly fixtures throughout the season.
